Habitat and Vegetation Surveys
Tay Ecology can implement a range of habitat surveys, from an initial Phase 1 mapping project, through to a comprehensive NVC classification. Habitat management plans can be produced, and invasive species, such as Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam recorded.
Phase 1 Habitat Surveys
A Phase 1 habitat survey is the initial stage of a botanical survey, and includes the mapping of habitats and recording of key plant species. It assists with defining the site's ecological importance.
National Vegetation Classification (NVC) Surveys
The NVC is a habitat classification system to define detailed UK habitats by the plant species present. It can assist with micro-siting, & habitat restoration and management plans.
Tree Survey and Inspection
We can complete visual, ground surveys for trees in accordance with BS5837 trees in relation to design, demolition and construction and tree safety inspections, to highlight any tree which may require further survey and monitoring.
Invasive Species Surveys
Surveys for invasive species, such as Japanese knotweed or Himalayan balsam may be necessary where planning conditions dictate. We can survey for all invasive species and supply further recommendations.
Habitat Management Plans
Tay Ecology can design habitat management plans for your site, these may be required if planning conditions refer to a specific habitat, or features, which must be restored or created as part of the development.
